Mirvish Village will provide a much needed daycare to support families living on site and within the broader community.
The proposed daycare has been relocated from the seventh floor down to grade, behind the existing heritage buildings at 588 to 594 Markham Street. The new location provides improved access to the community and better connection to an at-grade outdoor play area. The southwest exposure of the outdoor play area provides for sun exposure and maximizes the incidence of natural light. Covered areas will be provided to protect children from overexposure to sun and wind.
The principal access for the daycare will be at grade directly from Markham Street, sharing the entry with the 596 Markham, which is the former entry to David Mirvish’s gallery and art bookstore.
